"action news" reporter trish hartman is live near the scene in chester with the details, trish? >> reporter: well, walter the family of the victim ronald williams is devastated. they are gathering tonight, to support one another and they have a mess age for the person responsible, for his death. >> you have to live with this knowing that you ran, a father , a brother, an uncle, a nephew, you just ran him over and kept going. so we just asking to you just, do what is right and sight of the god to turn yourself in. >> reporter: that is uncle of 46 year-old ronald jamill williams of chester wild by a hit and run driver earlier this morning according to state police. his family is still in shock. >> whatever family function we would have he would be there. he was enjoying life. he always had a smile, you know. >> reporter: family members say williams was on his way home from his bartending job when it happen pennsylvania state powe says williams stopped for an unknown reason

on the highland avenue ramp getting on i-95 southbound in chester shortly before 3:00 a.m. he then got out of his vehicle and that is when police say a car hit him and kept going fleeing south on i-95. williams was pronounced dead on the scene by the delaware county medical examiner. police say that the striking vehicle looks like this, a newer model black volkswagen with front end and windshield damage. >> we are just trying to encourage the person who did it, to come forward, and, you know, bring closure for yourself because we're still, f. >> reporter: family members say that williams was a hard working father of two, anyone with any information about this hit/run is asked to contact the pennsylvania state police, at (484)840-1000. reporting live from chester, trish hartman for channel six "action news", walter thanks, trish. lukens, family who lost two sons when a space heater set their schwenksville home a blaze is receiving tremendous

report from the community. members of the fc provident soccer club set up a gift wrapping station at philadelphia premium outlets to raise money for the family. players from the girls team say that they want to do whatever it takes to help, even if it means putting their own dreams, side. >> initially we added it up to the girls to fund raise to go to disney and all of them unominously donated to the lukens family. we want to help bring some help to them. >> wonderful. they are connect to the lukens family, the father brian lukens, a montgomery county sheriff's deputy, also coaches for providence. one of the boys who died in the fire was also, a providence player. much more to come on "action news" tonight, something worth waiting for in line, we will take you to the amazing event where hundreds of dogs and cats were made available for loving families. also a new chapter for an old library why book lovers in one community has reason to cheer. big test for eagles as they take on the giants without carson wentz.

in wilmington delaware a local ministry and first responders are working together tone sure hundreds of children have a merry christmas. these beautifully wrapped gifts were handed out to 800 kid from all across the county new castle county paramedics and my industry of caring organized this effort each year for, children whose family don't have enough money to spend on christmas gifts.

bookworms rejoyce there is a new improved library toy enjoy in mt. airy. love it branch of the free library of philadelphia reopened today after two years of renovations. community members, enjoyed live music along with brand new computers, and even some arts and crafts for the kid. library first opened here on the 6900 block of germantown avenue back in 1887, and officially became a branch of the free library system in 1994. dozens of people stood in line in center city to day for a chance to bring home a new best buddy. brandywine valley spca hosted the tri-state area largest pet adoption event, right there, at the 23rd street armory. more than 1,000 adoptable animals were ready to meet their brand new families. the adoption just 20 bucks giving these dogs and cats a gray chance to find new loving homes.

thirty-nine in reading. thirty-seven there in dover. looking at the big picture here is satellite six with action radar. you can see it is quiet across our region. we had a weak disturbance that moved through earlier today that did produce lake effect snow showers down wind of the lakes and even some flurries up in the poconos and cat skills. all that activity is winding down. so for rest of tonight partly cloudy, pretty cold. drop down to 23 in the suburbs , and 29 degrees in philadelphia for the overnight low. the sunday forecast mostly cloudy, blustery. we have a high temperature of 42 degrees. we are watching that disturbance that moves through as we go throughout the rest of the overnight hours and problem that disturbance and this cold front moves off to the south as we get into sunday night and into monday. that could lead to precipitation on the way overnight sunday and early monday morning and some mixed precipitation north and west. we will keep you posted and covered with that. exclusive accu weather seven day forecast showing you today
